Description
Sustainable PLA with elephant grass
The colorFabb Vibers PLA is a bio-based PLA filament with 10% elephant grass that was developed in cooperation with the Dutch company Vibers.
Elephant grass grows incredibly efficiently, sequestering four times the amount of CO2 per hectare compared to a normal European forest. It grows on fallow land not used for growing food and does not require additional irrigation.
As the leaves are shed over time, the soil receives essential nutrients and revitalises itself. The tops are harvested once a year, the rest of the plant remains so that biodiversity is preserved.
Vibers PLA can be used to print models with an incredibly smooth, soft, and matt-looking surface and great feel. If you look closely, you can see a hint of cellulose fibres on the surface of the printed part.
