ABS, PLA and PETG tested
Rated with 5 out of 5 stars.
As you can read from the title, I have tested it with the most common filaments and none failed to stick here. Only use the thinnest layer of hairspray so you can detach the prints after your bed cooled off and clean it with alcohol regularly. Careful when installing this film, I have installed it on glass and it was a bit of a pain, if you screw up it's hard to fix it so fix it well in a corner and slowly stick it further. IT KEEPS A LOT OF BUBBLES UNDER IT, so have patience and pull the bubbles out with a card or something. Apply it while bed is a bit warm (40-50 degrees C).
Also, mine didn't have the BuildTak branding anywhere, was just the clear yellowish film (a bit weird for me). Overall good. Was this rating helpful? (5) (0)

PEI
Rated with 4 out of 5 stars.
Works wonderfully straight out of the box with PLA and after messing about with the temperature of the heated plate works well with ABS

Um
Rated with 3 out of 5 stars.
Full cards on the table first, I got this with a voucher and I wouldn't have otherwise, I normally buy the cheapest PEI sheet I can find because the printers I'm putting it on has an awkward shape so I need to get a big sheet so price is always a factor and frankly PEI is PEI (or so I thought)
My PEI sheets are always well looked after, cleaned after every print, maintained well, as a result I normally get around 6 months of use out of each one, despite the printers they're on going 24/7, it's PEI, so stuff nicely pops off when cooled without issue, don't have a scraper anywhere in sight, thing of the past! PEI is a game changer!
So I beg of you, buildtak, what did you do to this PEI to curse it? Everything welds to it, doesn't matter if I let it cool to ambient, doesn't matter what adhesive I use (or don't use) I got so frustrated with it thinking it was me that I ended up doing different temperature strips of filament to see which came off easier.
Every print I've done on it thus far has ended up with me sat down with the plate chipping left over filament off the PEI - it's been on there a week, it looks like it's been on there a year already, did I go back in time?
