Description

The BIQU Hermit Crab V2 quick-change tool system is designed to make changing print heads quick and easy for the use of multiple print heads. Thanks to a practical spring button design, the print heads can be changed quickly with a single click and without cooling or disassembly.

Lightweight construction

The Hermit Crab V2 features a CNC-machined housing that ensures robust, vibration-resistant performance. A number of optimisations have reduced the weight of the metal construction by a fantastic 63g. At the same time, a seamless connection between the tool plate and the fixed plate has been created.

Easy disassembly

To make disassembly easier, the round buckle structure and the spring contact on the tool plate fit together perfectly. By pressing on the spring, the extrusion head can be removed quickly and effectively.

Wide compatibility

The quick-change system can be flexibly adapted to a wide range of print heads (H2, E3D Hemera, Ender 3 heatsink, etc.) and tool heads (cutter, plotter, engraver) to fulfil any user printing requirements.

The system fits both the MGN12H and MGN9H linear rails and the European standard V-groove rails 2020.

Differences to Hermit Crab V1

Compared to Hermit Crab V1, the V2 version has been expanded to include several interfaces:

► Tool plate for the connection of different tool heads:

improved spring contact points for a stable connection,
selectable fan voltage (4-pin fan 12V/5V, 2-pin fan 12V/5V, 2-pin fan 24V/5V),
extended 4-pin fan interface,
additional RGB interface,
additional I²C interface for humidity sensors or filament runout sensors,

► Fixing plate for connecting the mould plate to the rail:
